Morocco Trains 1000 SMEs In AI

The General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) recently unveiled an initiative, Génération AI: Boosting 1000 Moroccan SMEs”, aimed at empowering 1,000 Moroccan SMEs to harness the power of AI.
This program, developed in collaboration with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and LinkedIn, is designed to provide SMEs with access to specialized AI training. Entrepreneurs participating in the initiative will receive LinkedIn Learning licenses, granting them the tools to develop critical AI skills and explore its vast potential. These licenses, which are personal and non-transferable, will remain active until September 2025, ensuring ample time for participants to deepen their expertise.
The training modules offered through Génération AI will cover a range of strategic areas, including innovation, sustainable development, and digital transformation. By equipping business leaders with these skills, the program aims to foster a culture of innovation and efficiency within Morocco’s SME sector. This is particularly timely, as digital transformation continues to reshape the global business landscape, making technological adoption a key factor in maintaining competitiveness.

The main priorities for Morocco’s socioeconomic growth were the subject of a recent conference in Casablanca between the General Confederation of Enterprises (CGEM) of Morocco and a delegation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The talks, which were facilitated by CGEM Vice President Mehdi Tazi, covered the opportunities and problems that are now influencing Morocco’s economic environment.
Tazi emphasized how important small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) are, referring to them as “the backbone of Morocco’s economy” according to CGEM. He emphasized the importance of SMEs in promoting innovation and creating jobs. Understanding the challenges these companies face, he underlined the necessity of focused assistance to guarantee their continuous expansion and economic contribution. Tazi stated that “SMEs are key drivers of job creation and innovation.”
Morocco has long understood that small and medium-sized businesses are essential to fostering innovation and economic progress. The initiative is further strengthened by the support of organizations, including the Association des Femmes Entrepreneurs du Maroc (AFEM) and Technopark. Together, they aim to create a lasting impact on Morocco’s business ecosystem by accelerating the adoption of AI and fostering a skilled workforce.
