President Ruto Hosts African Leaders At State House During Connected Africa Summit
Kenyan President William Samoei Ruto on Wednesday hosted a high-level working breakfast at State House in Nairobi, convening ministers and senior government officials from across Africa attending the Connected Africa Summit 2026.
Held in honour of visiting delegations, the engagement brought together cabinet ministers, deputy ministers, principal secretaries, and heads of delegation from across Africa, including Malawi, Uganda, Liberia, South Sudan, Zimbabwe, Burundi, Angola, Algeria, Guinea, The Gambia, and the Republic of Congo, alongside a special guest delegation from Chad.
William Kabogo Gitau, Cabinet Secretary of the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy said the meeting offered a platform to enhance collaboration on Africa’s digital transformation agenda and deepen regional cooperation.

Discussions at the meeting focused on advancing a coordinated approach to digital development across the continent, anchored on a shared vision of building an integrated digital market and expanding connectivity.
Participants underscored the need for collective action in shaping Africa’s digital future, emphasising the development of a connected and inclusive digital ecosystem that supports economic growth and regional integration.
Organised by the Information and Communications Technology Authority, the four-day summit has brought together policymakers, innovators, development partners and private sector leaders from across Africa.

Held under the theme “Uniting Africa’s Innovation for an Inclusive Digital Market,” the summit seeks to accelerate measurable digital transformation through collaboration, policy alignment and investment in enabling infrastructure.
The Connected Africa Summit 2026 is anchored on a comprehensive agenda aimed at accelerating Africa’s digital transformation through collaboration, policy alignment, and investment.
Key focus areas of the summit include the expansion of resilient digital infrastructure to improve connectivity across the continent, the development of harmonised policy and regulatory frameworks to enable cross-border data flows, and the advancement of Digital Public Infrastructure such as digital identity and interoperable platforms.

The agenda also prioritises strengthening cybersecurity frameworks to enhance trust in digital systems, scaling digital skills development to build a future-ready workforce, and fostering innovation ecosystems that support startups and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence.
