Kenya To Host The Bitcoin Nairobi Conference 2026
The Bitcoin Nairobi Conference 2026 is coming to a city near you.
Set for 24–26 June 2026 at the ASK Dome, Jamhuri Park, Nairobi, the conference is built on the belief that Bitcoin is no longer simply an emerging technology. Instead, it is already being used, built upon, taught, and studied across the continent. The conference seeks to provide a platform where the people and organisations driving this progress can connect, learn from one another, share experiences, and collaborate on solutions that increase Bitcoin’s value and utility within African communities.
“We are organising the Bitcoin Nairobi Conference because Africa should not just witness the future of Bitcoin. We should help shape it. Across Kenya and the continent, people are already using Bitcoin in practical ways to drive financial inclusion, innovation, and community empowerment,” said Serah Mucha, Organiser, Bitcoin Nairobi Conference.

Bitcoin is a decentralised digital monetary network that enables people to send, receive, and store value without relying on a central authority. Since its introduction in 2009, Bitcoin has grown into a global financial innovation used for savings, payments, remittances, entrepreneurship, and economic inclusion. Through the Lightning Network, Bitcoin facilitates fast, low-cost transactions, making it practical for everyday use and increasingly relevant to communities, businesses, and institutions across Africa.
Why Now, Why Here?
The conference, an independent, Africa-led gathering, will bring together policymakers, developers, entrepreneurs, educators, businesses, investors, community leaders, and Bitcoin users to explore its growing role in society and the opportunities it presents for the continent.
“We believe now is the right time to bring together builders, educators, policymakers, businesses, and everyday users to learn from one another and explore Bitcoin’s real impact in Africa,” said Mucha.

The conference programme is built around six key pillars that will draw the audience into the Bitcoin world by shedding insights into what Bitcoin is and how it works, the future of money, the curious and exciting issues around decentralization of money, trust, and transparency to real-world use cases. Of course, the conference wouldn’t be complete without the contribution of builders and innovators, or the role of policy and regulation.
Advancing Bitcoin Circular Economies
Kenya has emerged as one of Africa’s leading hubs for grassroots Bitcoin adoption. Communities such as AfriBit Kibera, Bitcoin Chama, BTC Biashara, BTC Githurai, BTC Babies, and others are demonstrating how Bitcoin can be earned, spent, and saved within local economies. These circular economy initiatives are creating practical examples of how Bitcoin can strengthen local commerce, support entrepreneurship, improve financial access, and encourage economic participation.
The conference is organised through a collaborative effort involving AfriBit Kibera, Gorilla Sats, Trezor Academy, Bitika, and Tando, with event production led by TALO, CIO Africa by dx5, and Capital FM as media partners.

“Our hope is that attendees leave inspired, informed, and connected, with practical ideas and partnerships that continue beyond the conference,” concluded Mucha.
