Nigeria, as a host country, emphasized its commitment to leveraging AI for its digital transformation agenda. Dr. Bosun Tijani, the Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, highlighted the potential of AI to leapfrog traditional development challenges and create new opportunities for growth. “AI is not just another technology trend; it is a significant catalyst for the change that our country needs,” Tijani said. “It offers us the chance to unlock new possibilities and create a more inclusive and prosperous future.”

Kashifu Inuwa, Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), delivered a keynote address emphasizing the importance of developing AI technologies that serve humanity. “We cannot afford to build AI that does not assist humanity,” he said. Inuwa highlighted the transformative power of AI in areas such as healthcare, education, agriculture, and climate change. However, he also stressed the need for a collective effort to ensure that AI is developed and applied responsibly.
