Vilcom Launches ViliPlus Internet Rewards Programme

Internet service provider Vilcom has introduced a rewards programme that allows subscribers to exchange points earned through subscription renewals for additional days of internet access, offering existing customers another way to extend their connectivity.

The programme, known as ViliPlus, awards points when customers renew their internet subscriptions. Subscribers can accumulate the points and redeem them for free access days after reaching a specified threshold.

The launch comes amid ongoing concerns about internet affordability and unequal access to connectivity in Kenya. While rewards programmes can offer existing subscribers additional access without a separate payment for those days, their practical benefit depends on how many points customers earn, how long they must accumulate them and how much additional connectivity they receive.

Speaking at the launch in Nairobi, Vilcom Chief Operating Officer Peter Kipkoech said the programme was designed to respond to customer expectations while supporting the company’s operations.

“Responding to customer expectations is central to building lasting relationships and maintaining business continuity. With initiatives such as ViliPlus offering an opportunity to deliver additional value to existing customers,” he said.

Vilcom Chief Executive Officer Agnes Limo highlighted the role of customer care in service delivery, pointing to the importance of employee development and equipping staff to respond to customer needs.

The programme was launched at the end of Customer Service Week 2026. Its rewards model ties the additional internet access available to customers to their continued subscription renewals.

Although ViliPlus could provide existing customers with additional days online, its reach will depend on the programme’s eligibility requirements and redemption terms. Customers who cannot afford an initial subscription may not benefit from a scheme that requires them to renew before earning rewards.
