Mitsumi Returns To Homeground For GITEX Kenya 2026
From its roots in Nairobi to a multi-region distribution business spanning the Middle East, Africa and India, Mitsumi Distribution is positioning its participation at GITEX Kenya 2026 as both a showcase of its growth journey and a statement of its future ambitions in technology distribution.
The company, which was founded in Kenya, will participate in the event from 19th to 21st May 2026 in Nairobi, bringing together a curated selection of its global brand portfolio for partners, resellers and technology leaders across East Africa.
Over the years, Mitsumi has grown from a regional operation into one of the most influential value-added distributors across the Middle East and Africa. The company currently manages a portfolio of more than 45 global brands spanning IT, telecommunications, enterprise and artificial intelligence across 36 countries.

Its expansion strategy has focused on identifying emerging market opportunities, onboarding global technology brands and building channel ecosystems designed to support partners and end users. The latest phase of that growth includes expansion into India, placing Mitsumi across what it describes as three major technology growth corridors: the Middle East, Africa and South Asia.
“What we have built at Mitsumi over the years is a testament to the power of vision, perseverance, and the right partnerships. From our roots in Kenya to a presence spanning multiple countries across the Middle East, Africa, and now India, our growth has been driven by one unwavering belief: that emerging markets deserve world-class technology, delivered with world-class expertise. As we advance our Connecting Intelligence agenda in 2026 and beyond, we are not simply expanding our footprint; we are deepening our impact, broadening our portfolio, and positioning Mitsumi as the definitive technology distribution partner for the future of this region,” Jagat Shah, Chairman & CEO, Mitsumi Distribution.
The company is operating in 2026 under the theme “Connecting Intelligence”, which it describes as a strategic commitment focused on connecting technologies, people and ideas to drive business progress.

According to Mitsumi, the initiative is aimed at ensuring the right technologies reach the right businesses through the right partnerships, particularly as artificial intelligence continues to reshape industries across global markets.
For the distributor, participating in GITEX Kenya also carries symbolic significance.
Kenya remains the company’s foundation and continues to play a central role in its identity and operations. Mitsumi says the country’s business community, channel partners and technology ecosystem have been integral to its growth journey, making the Nairobi event a homecoming moment for the company.

At the exhibition, Mitsumi plans to demonstrate its approach to value-added distribution while engaging regional partners and technology stakeholders on the future of technology distribution in Africa.
“Mitsumi’s vision has always been clear: to build a business that does not just distribute technology but transforms the markets it serves. Our focus is on turning that vision into reality every single day. That means the right brands on the shelf, the right support in the field, the right conversations with our partners, and the right solutions reaching businesses across our markets. At GITEX Kenya 2026, that commitment comes to life. We are bringing our strongest portfolio yet to our home ground, and we look forward to demonstrating what Connecting Intelligence truly means in practice,” Mitesh Shah, Co-Chairman & Managing Director, Mitsumi Distribution.
