“Disruptive leadership is a mindset,” he said. “This kind of leadership will help leaders accomplish milestones without worrying about shaking up things or altering the paths to obtain the necessary results.”
A distinctive component of disruptive leadership style is that leaders expect the unexpected and thrive with the highest levels of uncertainty, being ideal for guiding the team and transmitting calm and trust, reports PDA International.
Disruptive leaders have the personal strength of character to stay the course because disruption can and will take take time. A sisruptive leader must be fearless in pursuing the truth, decisive and inspiring confidence, adaptable and understand that disruption can cause uncertainty. They also involve their teams in decisions making process.
To be successful, disruptive leaders require the ability to master the soft skills to manage others through periods of intense change
But good as it sounds, disruption sometimes leads to fewer profits and lower margins in the business. This is nowonder some business still operate roughly the same way as they have done for years, even in the face of digitisation.
