Watch Out For Africa CISO Summit
CISOs (chief information security officers) are fast becoming the cornerstone of security in enterprises. Responsible for developing and implementing cybersecurity strategies, policies, and procedures that ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of an organisation’s information assets. While not every organisation is fortunate enough to have a CIO and a CISO, those who have the latter find that the CISO works closely with the C-Suite and business leaders to identify security risks that are addressed as needed.
This is why Cybertech Africa in collaboration with dx⁵ is bringing to you the Africa CISO Summit 2024. “The CISO plays a critical role in protecting an organisation’s information assets and maintaining the trust of customers, partners, and stakeholders. The role requires a strong understanding of the technical, operational, and regulatory aspects of information security, as well as excellent communication, leadership, and management skills,” stated Harry Hare, Chairman, dx⁵.
To give you a taste of what the Africa CISO Summit will bring, tune in to Cybertech Africa happening from 6-7 June 2023 at the Kigali Convention Centre in Kigali, Rwanda. dx⁵ and Cybertech will, on both days from 14h00 – 20h00 open up the event for a preamble.

The unprecedented annual event will focus on the most critical challenges in the global cyber world and is a much-needed refresh of the Africa Cloud & Security Summit. This inaugural event will bring together some of the most forward-thinking, innovative and astute minds in Africa. Cybersecurity events that cater specifically to CISOs offer excellent networking opportunities with peers, experts, and industry leaders learning from each other in a collaborative environment.
“CISOs, as senior executives responsible for managing and overseeing an organisation’s information security programmes, face unique challenges and responsibilities in today’s complex cybersecurity landscape. While there are many cybersecurity events that cover various aspects of information security, CISOs may benefit from attending events that are specifically tailored to their needs and interests. They need to stay up-to-date on the latest threats, trends, and technologies in the cybersecurity space, network with peers and industry leaders, and engage with vendors and solution providers,” said Hare.
Cybertech and dx⁵ will host a think-tank-style forum inspiring analysis, discussion and deliberations on the challenges, and opportunities in the cybersecurity space. The brainstorming sessions will bring together other high-level CISOs to share ideas and network, culminating in an invite-only exclusive dinner.

Some of the themes that will be aired include fintech, AI, IoT, critical infrastructure and sustainability.
CISOs need tailored content to stay up-to-date on the latest threats, trends, and technologies in the cybersecurity space. It will deep dive into their specific needs and interests, such as leadership and management strategies, regulatory compliance, and risk management. And, CISOs must be able to communicate with senior management and the board of directors about the organisation’s information security posture and risk management strategies. Add to this the need to engage vendors by evaluating and selecting technologies that meet their organisation’s needs.
