“Mitel has been instrumental in the hospitality sector especially when it comes to the luxury hotels or 5-star property. We have a fantastic experience in offering our solutions which are primarily designed for the stability of the product providing a reliable platform. We also deliver advanced solutions focused on the guest experiences, with a strong expertise in integrating with third-party components especially with the property management system,” Asif Khan noted.
The hospitality sector consists of two main segments. The first one is the luxury properties segment featuring 5-star properties which Mitel is addressing with its MiVoice Business unified communications (UC) platform. The product offers a fantastic experience to the segment and the company has already rolled it out with top brands in the region, including in Kenya.
As a renowned brand in the hospitality segment, Mitel is also working on another segment addressing the needs of the lower segment in the market through the MiVoice Office 400 UC platform, a comprehensive end to end solution interfacing with the property management system to enable greater employee and guest experience.

Mr. Khan further talked about Mitel’s strategy to recruit more channel partners in key African countries to purse their growth in the region and take advantage of this dynamic UC and tech market.
“Our go-to-market strategy is to address the high-end property segment through direct high touch while budget hotels segment would be covered through channel partners in their respective regions and countries, once they get trained and certified on Mitel’s solutions,” he said.
The CEO of Mart Networks, Mitel’s Distribution Partner, Moiz Maloo said that “we had an amazing event here in Mombasa with Mitel focusing on the hospitality segment. The event was very interactive and this opportunity for knowledge transfer to the hospitality users within the Coast region will add a lot of value. Over 95% of the hotels on the Kenyan coast are private label hotels and not the global brands that we see across other leading tourist destinations. This event has given great insights to many of the IT managers and other key personnel within this segment and we hope we can convert these users to the best-in-class solutions Mitel has to offer for the hospitality segment. We hope this event has been informative and now we will be working closely with them to see how we can help them upgrade their communication systems to Mitel.
