Octavia Carbon Secures Capital To Advance DAC Technology
Kenyan-based startup, Octavia Carbon has received funding to develop its Direct Air Capture(DAC) technology that will enable the company to reduce carbon emissions and combat climate change on a global scale.
Octavia Carbon is the Global South’s first Direct Air Capture (DAC) company. It designs, builds, and deploys patented technology to filter CO2 from the atmosphere to reverse climate change and end the fossil fuel age.
Octavia Carbon stands out by leveraging Kenya’s remarkable geothermal energy, geological features, and talent to accelerate DAC technology. The company is on a mission to establish Kenya as the most cost-efficient center for constructing and deploying DAC machines globally by 2025.

Renew Capital, a firm specializing in impact investments in Africa has provided funding to Octavia Carbon. This financial support will propel the development of Octavia’s DAC technology, furthering its mission to reduce carbon emissions on a global scale.
Octavia Carbon not only focuses on technological advancements but also offers a practical solution for businesses and individuals to offset their carbon emissions. The company provides the opportunity to purchase carbon credits, allowing individuals and businesses to compensate for their carbon footprint at an affordable price. This initiative contributes to climate fairness, particularly benefiting communities in Kenya.
The DAC technology directly captures atmospheric Carbon Dioxide (CO2), which can then be used in the creation of new products, such as aviation fuels, or securely stored underground.
