East African Breweries Limited (EABL) has appointed Anne-Joy Michira as East Africa’s Marketing & Innovation Director.
Prior to this role, Michira was the Head of Marketing – Beer for EABL and played a significant role in building and growing some of East Africa’s most prominent alcoholic beverages at Diageo.
She was also the head of Kenya’s Spirits Marketing, where she led the explosion of brands such as Chrome Vodka, Kenya Cane and Chrome Vodka. Kenya’s spirits business is now Diageo’s second-biggest.
In a statement, KBL Managing Director John Musunga and EABL Group HR Director Tope Akinsanya termed Michira as a “big business leader, passionate about propelling young Africans to action.”
“AJ has built an extensive commercial career spanning over 16 years, working in both trade & brand marketing and over the period has worked diligently to build empowered and engaged teams that deliver sustainable, vibrant P&Ls,” read the statement.
Michira’s career began as a Trade Marketing Representative at British American Tobacco (BAT) and progressed into roles with increasing responsibilities over ten years.
She takes over from Graham Villiers-Tuthill.
