Airtel Money Launches Bizna Wallet In Kenya

Airtel Money has launched Bizna Wallet, a dedicated business wallet designed to help Kenya’s micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) better manage their finances by separating business and personal funds on a single Airtel Money account.

Unveiled on August 3, the new solution allows entrepreneurs to receive customer payments, monitor business cash flow, access transaction records and transfer funds between their personal and business wallets through a secure digital platform.

Bizna Wallet functions as a second wallet linked to an existing Airtel Money account. Business owners can register via *334# or the My Airtel App, select the Bizna Wallet option, and begin receiving customer payments into a dedicated business wallet while keeping personal funds separate.

Speaking during the launch, Michael Bonke, Acting Managing Director, Airtel Money Kenya, encouraged entrepreneurs to adopt the service, noting that transactions of up to $1,940 (approximately KSh 250,000) would not attract transaction charges.

The launch comes as Kenya’s digital economy continues to be driven by small businesses seeking affordable and accessible financial management tools. By enabling entrepreneurs to separate business and personal finances, Airtel Money aims to improve financial discipline, simplify bookkeeping and provide greater visibility into business performance.

Alongside Bizna Wallet, Airtel Money also enhanced its Rudishiwa rewards proposition by introducing a 50 per cent cashback on eligible transactions valued at $0.78 (approximately KSh 101) and above. The offer applies to bill payments, bank transfers, transfers to other mobile money networks and transfers to bank accounts.

The company said the new products underscore its commitment to supporting Kenya’s MSMEs with digital financial services that are simple, secure and designed to promote business growth.
