8 bidders have successfully submitted their Request for Proposal (RFP) for the supply, delivery, installation, testing and commissioning of goods and related services for implementation of the Digital Literacy Programme in public primary schools in Kenya.
The bidders include:
Hewlett – Packard EA Limited, Lenovo EA Limites, Kenyatta University, University of Nairobi, Moi University, Dedan Kimathi University of Technology & Meru University of Science and Technology, Symphony Technologies Limited and Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.

Initially, 10 bidders had been shortlisted but two did not qualify. Strathmore Research and Consultancy Centre withdrew last minute from the process while Smoothtel &Data Solutions Limited submitted late.
An evaluation process will follow and an evaluation committee will be appointed to go through the RFP’s. The evaluation process is expected to take at least 30 days. The evaluation entails Technical and Financial evaluation of the tender document.

Teachers Digital Device, Learners Digital Device, Special needs Education Learner Digital Device, Server and Routers and Projectors
The bids have been divided into three Lots (Lot 1 – 14 counties, Lot 2 – 21 counties and Lot 3 – 12 counties) according to the number of counties.
Bidders must bid for all items in a lot. Bids will be evaluated and contracts awarded on a lot by lot basis. The ICT Authority is the implementing agency for the programme.
