45 Most Influential Women In Tech 2024 Launches
CIO Africa Magazine is thrilled to announce once again our annual Most Influential Women In Digital Transformation, Africa, 2024! The 45 Most Influential Women in the tech space has become a CIO Africa Magazine brand in its fifth year, and we need YOUR nominations!
The 45 Most Influential Women edition recognises, highlights and showcases women doing extraordinary things with emerging technologies. Each year, for the past four years, CIO Africa Magazine has dug deep to spotlight the remarkable women driving digital transformation across Africa. These women, some of whom are well known to us, while others toil away behind the scenes, are part of the continent’s digital revolution.

A survey by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) says there are only about 20 per cent – 30 per cent of women in the ICT workforce in Africa. That makes the gems we find that much more exciting. Aside from that, the entire issue is dedicated to the amazing women who have accomplished much.
Here is the woman we seek:

- A leader who directly contributes to the growth and strategic direction of their organisation.
- A woman with a strong digital footprint who uses her platform(s) to connect and engage with the African tech community.
- A woman who had continually driven innovation; the kind that inspires the wider tech community in the continent.
- A role model who inspires a new generation of African women in technology.
- A woman who has contributed to the general development of the ICT sector in Africa.
- A woman who has had doors opened for her over the past year thanks to her contribution to the tech community and industry from October 2023 to October 2024.
The nominations are now open and will close on 16 October 2024.

I would like to nominate Deborah N. Mutungi – The Group IT Manager , Sarova Hotels and Resorts.
Deborah has been driving digital transformation for Sarova Hotels and Resorts for the last 2 years; with a solid understanding that the most critical priorities for any CIO are adaptability and a full understanding of all aspects of the business; to be able to provide solutions that are not only impactful but also align with the strategic direction of the business.
Some of the key achievements are:
1. She is a mentor not only to her team but to a whole community of ladies and young men who are both in tech and other departments.
