Tech start-up bags Sh100m in deal as investors eye apps
Five years ago an early stage start-up accelerator and incubator, Nailab, was founded and was mainly known for producing award winning mobile applications. This was seen a step forward as some of the award winning apps put Kenya on global innovation map. This, however, has changed with most of the start-ups in such incubation centres that include iHub, Start-up Garage, mLab, Fablab, 88mph, iLab, and GrowthHub Africa not only turning themselves into viable businesses, but are also attracting suitors.

Cellulant, 3G Direct in deal to boost online payments
Mobile digital payments provider Cellulant has partnered with 3G Direct Pay Limited (3G DP) to enable customers in Africa to make secure online payments using credit and debit cards, PayPal and Mobile Money. The online transactions will now be safer, reliable and in real-time. In the deal, 3G Direct Pay end customers will be able to use and pay via M-Pesa, Airtel Money, MTN Mobile Money and other mobile money platforms across the continent.

Jumia releases updated shopping app for android
Jumia has announced a new version of its android application: Jumia Android app version 2.5- Live. The new app offers a new, smooth and fast homepage allowing you to browse easily through a catalogue of over 100,000 products on Jumia, a new layout for product specifications page and navigation drawer. In addition, the app has been customized to filter by country and an alert users of the latest deals and offers at the swipe of the finger.

AllenHark Group signs Ksh. 3.2 Billion deal with Mambu to bring Banking 3.0 to Kenya
The AllenHark Group signed a partnership deal with Germany’s Mambu on Wednesday 2oth May 2015 making them an innovation & integration partner for East Africa. The signing happened during the Banking 3.0 Executive Breakfast held at Serena Hotel in Nairobi. AllenHark plans to use Mambu’s exceptional Cloud Banking software in their newly launched Allensuite, which is an all-in-one Integrated Banking platform targeted at Banks, MFIs & Credit unions in the region.
