U.S. confirms drone attack that killed suspect responsible for Westgate attack
The United States government recently, through an official statement, confirmed reports that a drone believed to belong to the U.S. killed a member of the al-Shabab who allegedly helped mastermind the 2013 Westgate Mall attack in Nairobi. According to the released statement, the attack took place on Thursday last week and was a success, the attack was carried out after trusted sources informed the American government.

Westgate Shopping Mall owner Sony Holdings has lost a trade name battle against Japanese electronics giant Sony Corporation, bringing to an end the property developer’s bid to register ‘Sony’ as its exclusive trademark in Kenya. Court of Appeal judges Erastus Githinji, John Mwera and William Ouko ruled that the Registrar of Trademarks was right in declining the Westgate Mall owners’ request to register Sony Holdings as a trademark following opposition from the Japanese electronics manufacturer.

Kenyan IT firm Seven Seas Technologies has won a court bid to quash the award of a multi-million shilling tender for setting up a data centre designed to help weed out ghost workers at City Hall. According to Business Daily, Seven Seas had appealed the Public Procurement Oversight Authority’s award of the Kshs 211 million tender to rival company BCX Kenya Ltd.
