The National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) is turning to the use of fingerprints to identify civil servants and their dependants to tackle mounting fraud at the State-funded medical insurance scheme.

Study set to harmonise mobile cash transfer fees in East Africa
The central banks of four East African countries are conducting a study that will set the baseline for money transfer fees across the region. Heads of state in Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda and South Sudan in a June directive ordered individual bank regulators to study money flows in mobile platforms and state how harmonisation of the rates could affect the flow.
Campaign set up ahead of Huduma Card launch

The government plans to launch a one-month campaign in September ahead of unveiling Huduma Card, a tool that will be used in paying for state services as well as disbursing money. Through television, radio and billboards, the public will get to know more about the card before it hits the market later in the year.
