The World Bank Group and iHub are set to release the Digital Dividends WorldDevelopment Report 2016, a World Bank annual flagship report. The official launch of WDR 2016 in Nairobi, Kenya is part of a series of regional and country-level dissemination activities following the global launch in Washington DC on January 14, 2016.
This is according to a post on iHub’s official website whereby readers are informed that the report is mainly about technology.
“Although the topic of the Report is technology, it is looked upon through the lens of development economics. The Report documents many compelling examples where the internet, mobile phones and other digital technologies have delivered digital dividends by boosting growth, expanding opportunities and improving services,” the post reads.

“But it also finds that the broader benefits have fallen short and have gone disproportionately to the wealthy, skilled and powerful — those best equipped to take advantage of the digital revolution,” it continues.
The same team from World Bank that authored the WDR 2016 will present it. The event will take place on, Tuesday, February 9th, 2016 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM (EAT). It will be held at the iHub offices which are located in Bishop Magua Centre, Ngong Road (Opposite Uchumi Hyper).
Following a presentation of the report by the World Bank team (Deepak Mishra, Indhira Santos and Tim Kelly), there will be a panel discussion featuring Dr Monica Kerretts-Makau (Strathmore), Judith Owigar (AkiraChix) and Taita Ngetich (Illuminum Greenhouses), followed by open discussion.
