Westcon-Comstor Empowers Rwanda’s Youth

In a heartening display of corporate social responsibility, global tech provider Westcon-Comstor is leveraging its resources to uplift disadvantaged youth in Rwanda through strategic tech-enabled initiatives.

Partnering with the Rwanda-based NGO, Rising Above the Storms (RAS), Westcon-Comstor pledged its largest donation yet—$12,000—to bolster educational opportunities for gifted children and teenage mothers. The innovative approach focuses not only on education but also on empowerment through technology and entrepreneurship.

A significant portion of the donation will cover educational expenses for two gifted children, emphasising the provision of school fees, essential materials, and accommodation. Moreover, the funds will enable young mothers to access occupational training and seed capital for launching their businesses, fostering financial independence and nurturing their entrepreneurial aspirations.

At the heart of this collaboration lies technology’s transformative potential. Westcon-Comstor previously supported RAS by funding a cutting-edge computer lab, christened the “Comstor and Friends E-Lab.” This initiative aimed to introduce underprivileged youth to technology early in life, opening doors to digital literacy and future career prospects.

Furthermore, the tech giant extended its assistance by contributing to the purchase of essential sanitary products, ensuring the well-being of these vulnerable individuals.
