Wapi Pay, a provider of cross-border payments and remittances, announced today that it has obtained a global payments and international money remittance license from the Bank of Uganda. This license enables the fintech company to offer its services to customers in Uganda and worldwide.
“We are thrilled to have received this license from the Bank of Uganda,” said Eddie Ndichu, CEO of Wapi Pay. “It is a significant milestone for our company, allowing us to expand our reach and serve even more people. We remain dedicated to providing our customers with the best possible experience, and this license will facilitate that.”
Wapi Pay offers a range of services, including cross-border payments, international money remittances, and business payments. As a licensed financial institution regulated by the Bank of Uganda, the company prioritizes the safety and security of its customers’ money transfers.
“We understand that sending and receiving money can be complex, and our goal is to simplify the process as much as possible,” Eddie added. “We are committed to providing a safe and secure platform for our customers to send and receive money.”
In January, Wapi Pay received an international money transfer and cross-border remittance license from the Central Bank of Kenya to offer fast, secure, and cost-effective digital money transfers across borders, with a particular focus on Africa and Asia.
