However, Citizen TV and Inooro TV are yet to be reinstated.
The move comes hours after Activist Okiya Omtatah filed contempt proceedings against Interior CS Fred Matiang’i, ICT CS Joe Mucheru and the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) board.

Omtatah sued the Government officials for failure to comply with court orders requiring them to restore the stations as passed on by the courts on Thursday,1st February.
Last week on Wednesday, Omtatah had gone to court seeking orders for the restoration of broadcasts was granted by High Court Judge Chacha Mwita.
The judge ordered the CA, Ministries of ICT and Interior to restore the signals and not interfere with activities of the three media houses pending hearing on February 14.

KTN News, NTV, Citizen TV, Inooro TV and Radio Citizen were switched off on Tuesday, January 30 for airing the ‘swearing in’ of the National Super Alliance (NASA) leader, Raila Odinga.
According to Ipsos Synovate data,The Government could have relied on the Public Order Act and Prevention of Organised Crime Act to carry out the operation that has cost the stations close to Ksh30 million ($300,000) daily.
The media shutdown in Kenya has been faced with a lot of criticism ranging from The US Department of State and the European Union. Human and media rights organizations have also protested against the harassment of the media.
