She Connects Champions Women Empowerment For IWD
Women in connectivity space are set to host She Connects, an event in celebration of International Women’s Day on 8th March 2024, held at Radisson Blu, Upper Hill. The event will run from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
She Connects aims to bring together 150 women in connectivity including suppliers and companies operating in this space for networking and empowering conversations. The theme of the event is “Inspire Inclusion” in line with this year’s IWD theme.
The event will feature keynote speeches, a panel discussion, and a networking session for the delegates. The speakers will Include Ms Mary Mungai, CBS. The Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA), Kadri Humal-Ayal, Honorary Consul of Estonia in Kenya and Maryanne Karanja, Head of Supply Chain Management, Safaricom PLC.

The panel of CEOs in the connectivity industry will feature, Rebecca Wanjiku, CEO Fireside Group Africa, Josephine Kanyi, CEO Pavicon Group, Maureen Misoi, CEO Optimax Group, Jacqueline Moraa, General Manager Camusat Kenya and Elaine Kyalo, Head of Fixed Network Solutions, Safaricom PLC.
With Kenya’s ongoing ambitious plan to build 100,000Km national fibre optic network, connect over 29,000 schools and 25,000 WiFi hotspots, She Connects intends to delve into ways to bridge the connectivity gap by plugging women into the government’s agenda of laying down digital infrastructure.
The event seeks to acknowledge women doing exemplary work in empowering fellow women in line with IWD’s agenda to recognize women for their outstanding contribution to the society. An award session will highlight and honor women who have empowered others within the connectivity space.
