SEACOM, the pan-African internet enabler, has today signed up for the upcoming CIO 100 Symposium & Awards event to be held from 9th-11th November 2016. SEACOM comes on board as this year’s Ruby Sponsors.
Present to witness today’s SEACOM CIO100 sponsorship Cheque presentation was CIO East Africa Director Andrew Karanja, Marketing Coordinator for SEACOM- Kenya, Rebecca Nkatha and Patrick Ndegwa Business sales Lead at SEACOM at the SEACOM offices in Nairobi on Tuesday September 12th, 2016.
Speaking during the ceremony, Joseph Muriithi, Managing Director SEACOM, Kenya said, “We are excited about partnering with CIO East Africa. We believe that CIOs, IT related professionals and C-suite executives need to come together and discuss the year that was and the year that is coming in terms of improving efficiency and delivery of services.

As SEACOM we believe we have the best flavor of Internet in Africa and this story has not been told and we think through the symposium we will have a great platform to tell this story.”
He also added, “Our expectation is that CIO will do a thorough check of the products rolled out through the year before they settle down for the best CIO Award. I hope they will be keen on not only presentations but also on products rolled out in terms of the impact on the Kenyan population and efficiency of CIO impacting the Society,”
CIO Director, Andrew Karanja lauded SEACOM’s two year continued support towards the event citing the value of interaction brought about in regard to attaining enterprise excellence through innovation.

SEACOM was established in 2007 by a group of African investors with the objective of bringing the global Internet to Africa. Two years later, SEACOM launched the first broadband submarine cable system along the East African coastline linking South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya and Mozambique with major Internet connection hubs in Europe and Asia.
