Safaricom Welcomes New Chief Human Resource
Safaricom, Kenya’s leading telecommunications provider, announced the appointment of Florence Nyokabi as its new Chief Human Resources Officer.
She takes over from Paul Kasimu, who recently held the position and was instrumental in implementing HR strategies, leadership and talent development, and employer branding until April 1st, 2024. Kasimu has currently transitioned to the role of HR Transformation and Change Advisor on a contract with Safaricom.
In her new role, Nyokabi will oversee Talent Acquisition & Capability, Corporate Centres, Essential Services & Facilities, and Health, Safety & Wellness. She will also be responsible for driving the corporate culture at Safaricom, ensuring its continued success and growth in the telecommunications industry.

Nyokabi is an accomplished HR Leader with over 25 years progressive experience leading HR in local and global entities spanning multiple countries across Africa. She is a recognised thought leader who has been selected as a Top 40 Under 40 Leader in Kenya, and more recently, as HR Personality of the Year in Africa.
She brings with her a wealth of experience to Safaricom, having previously served as the Managing Director Human Resource for Nigeria and West Africa at Standard Chartered Bank, where she oversaw operations in over six countries.
