Rwanda To Host e-Learning Conference
Kigali, Rwanda, is preparing to host eLearning Africa, the continent’s largest conference focusing on digital learning, training, and skills development set to convene from May 29th to May 31st, 2024.
The year’s theme, “Education Fuels Innovation, Investment Amplifies Skills: Africa’s Vibrant Leap Forward,” not only highlights the critical interplay between education, investment, and innovation in steering Africa’s future but also aligns with global changes and Africa’s commitment to the African Union’s Agenda 2063.
The landmark event, co-hosted by the Ministry of Education, Rwanda, promises to bring together an unprecedented gathering of experts, educators, policymakers, business leaders, and innovators from across Africa and beyond, focusing not only on education but also on crucial aspects of training and skills development.

Since its inception in 2005, eLearning Africa has become Africa’s leading platform for education, training, and skill development through technology. It serves as a global forum for those invested in Africa’s educational advancement. Over time, eLearning Africa has empowered countless professionals with cutting-edge insights in a fast-changing world.
With over 72 sessions and workshops, eLearning Africa 2024 provides a robust platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration across various sectors, including foundational and higher education, vocational training, workplace, and lifelong learning, with a special emphasis on capacity building in vital areas such as 4IR, AI, TVET, tourism, health, agriculture, and other industries pivotal to Africa’s development.
The program includes in-depth dialogues, demonstrations, knowledge exchange sessions, knowledge factories, roundtable discussions, networking sessions, debates, pre-conference workshops, and panel presentations on various topics, offering opportunities for informal networking where professionals share experiences, ideas, perspectives, and innovations.

The goal is to revolutionize education by investing in advanced technologies, including AI, to meet the needs of a dynamic African youth. “It is imperative to invest in socio-economic initiatives and in education geared towards the future. Qualified workers and educators capable of ensuring social and economic prosperity are needed. Furthermore, to ensure lasting benefits, it is vital to place innovation at the heart of our economic cycle. By investing sufficiently in advanced technologies, including AI, we can revolutionize the educational process,” argue the organizers of eLearning Africa 2024.
The conference will host two impactful plenary sessions, focusing on technology’s transformative role in education. The first session will delve into strategic investments in education, aligning with the African Union’s Agenda 2063 and Sustainable Development Goals. The second session will explore innovative strategies for shaping the future workforce through digital innovation in education, training, and skill development.
Commenting on the event, Hon. Claudette Irere, the Minister of State for Education, stated, “Today, there is an increasing need to adopt a blended mode of learning to foster broader access to quality education and resiliency of the education systems, for all students to be prepared for the technological revolution of the 21st century, and beyond.”
