“SMS the word ‘Raila’ to 20217 to subscribe for direct text messages from me. Through this platform, you and I can engage directly. #RAOConnect,” he stated on his facebook page. “I am keen to create various avenues through which you and I can keep in touch and further exchange ideas. This is the reason behind #RAOConnect… From today, send the word ‘Raila’ to 20217 from your Safaricom mobile phone to subscribe for text messages directly from me. I will then send you an SMS from time to time to let you know my latest news, events, rally location information and where we can meet.”
The launch follows another move by Odinga to make himself more accessible when he earlier this month unveiled his new website – http://www.rao.co.ke .
“The wait is finally over! I am excited to announce the launch of my new website this Friday. http://www.rao.co.ke This site will give me a chance to better interact with my supporters as well as share insight into my personal life,” he wrote on his page.

The website is intended to enhance Odinga’s online stature. The website has been active ever since its launch delivering what the CORD principal said during its launch, that is to enhance communication links between him and his supporters.
The cord leader said the new website was not a campaign tool for 2017 elections as was widely speculated.
He said the site would contain personal content that would give Kenyans and the outside world ideas of his political and social life.
