President Ruto Taps Andrew Musangi As CBK Chair Nominee
President William Ruto has nominated Andrew Mukite Musangi as the Chair of the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK), succeeding Mohammed Nyaoga, whose tenure at the apex bank concluded on June 17th.
President Ruto has forwarded Musangi’s name to Parliament for vetting by the Departmental Committee on Finance and National Planning of the National Assembly jointly sitting with the Senate Standing Committee on Finance and Budget.
Musangi is an advocate of the High Court and serves as a Senior Consultant at LJA Associated LLP, a law firm whose portfolio of clients is characterised by players in the financial services sector, parastatals, and other government agencies.

He is also currently the Chair of the Board at the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority and also serves as a non-Executive Director at Centum Investments. He is the previous Chairman of the Law Society of Kenya, Rift Valley Branch and served as a Council member of the Nakuru Business Association from 2005-2012.
He obtained his LLB from the University of Hull (UK) in 1993 and was admitted to the Bar in 1995.
