Peter Ochen Appointed MTN Uganda Mobile Money GM

Peter Ochen has been appointed MTN Uganda Mobile Money General Manager, MTN Uganda announced on Thursday. Ochen has a wide experience in digital finance, debt, and forex investment management among others.

He has been at MTN Uganda for close to 15 years, out of which he served as the Senior Manager of Treasury from December 2011 to September 2022.

In the new role, Ochen will be required to refinance currency and interest rate exposure management, credit, counterparty arrangements, bank guarantee management, and investment. He will also be responsible for dividends, mobile money, and banking relationship management. He shall also handle dealer finance, reporting, and cash flow planning management.

Ochen holds Makerere University’s Postgraduate Diploma and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, and Finance. He is a Certified Public Accountant from the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU).
