Openai Unveils GPT- 4.5 With Improved Accuracy & Creativity

OpenAI has launched a research preview of its latest AI model, GPT-4.5, for Pro users and developers worldwide, with plans to expand access in the coming weeks.

The new model enhances pattern recognition, generates creative insights without reasoning, and demonstrates greater emotional intelligence, according to the company.

“Early testing shows that interacting with GPT‑4.5 feels more natural. Its broader knowledge base, improved ability to follow user intent, and greater “EQ” make it useful for tasks like improving writing, programming, and solving practical problems. We also expect it to hallucinate less,” OpenAI said in its website.

The Microsoft-backed AI firm will begin rolling out GPT-4.5 to ChatGPT Plus and Team users next week, followed by Enterprise and Edu users the following week.

Sam Altman, OpenAI CEO, described it as “a giant, expensive model” and cited GPU shortages as the reason for the phased rollout. He announced plans to add tens of thousands of GPUs next week to address capacity issues.

GPT-4.5 also reduces AI hallucinations: instances where models generate false information. It has a 37.1 per cent hallucination rate, an improvement over GPT-4o’s 61.8 per cent and the o1 reasoning model’s 44 per cent.

The model supports file and image uploads and can assist with writing and coding projects, but does not yet include voice or video capabilities.
