TotalEnergies Marketing Kenya Plc, formerly Total Kenya, has picked Olivier Van Parys as Director and Chairman of its Board with immediate effect to replace Frenchman Jean-Philippe Torres, who has held the position since September 2018.
Prior to this appointment, Parys was the Executive Vice President of East and Central Africa Division at TotalEnergies in Paris, France. He has worked for TotalEnergies Company for the last 26 years in various senior positions, said the firm in a notice. In August 2021, TotalEnergies appointed Eric Fanchini as its new CEO to replace Olagoke Aluko.
These changes in the oil marketer’s C-Suite follow the firm’s rebranding campaign as it seeks to shift to renewable energy. TotalEnergies Marketing Kenya is part of TotalEnergies, a broad energy company that produces and markets energies on a global scale: oil and biofuels, natural gas and green gases, renewables, and electricity.
The French oil firm has been operating in Kenya since 1955, it is the first multinational oil company to be quoted on the Nairobi Securities Exchange(NSE) and is a key part of Kenya’s essential services’ infrastructure.
