Network International Appoints Aron Kamakil As CIO For Eastern Africa

Network International appointed Aron Kamakil as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Eastern Africa.
Kamakil has nearly 15 years of experience in the financial services and technology sectors which will be crucial in his new role. His career spans significant achievements in digital transformation, IT strategy development, and operational excellence.
He also has regional experience, having worked at NCBA Rwanda where he successfully led digital transformation initiatives. The new Network International CIO has also led various key roles at some of East Africa’s leading financial institutions including the Commercial Bank of Africa (CBA), Equity Bank, and Co-operative Bank.

Prior to joining Network International, Kamakil served as the CIO for TransUnion Africa where he successfully oversaw technology operations across five countries, including Kenya. His leadership has been instrumental in driving innovation and improving operational efficiency in these markets.
As CIO for Eastern Africa, Kamakil will lead Network International’s technology strategy, delivery and operations across seven countries, ensuring the delivery of secure, scalable, and innovative payment solutions. This role is pivotal as the company continues to expand its footprint and support the region’s increasing demand for seamless digital payment solutions.
Network International is widely recognized as the leading enabler of digital commerce in the MEA region. The company serves over 130,000 merchants and processes more than 1.6 billion transactions annually.
