Jumia to Sell 14-Seater Vans For Less Than A Dollar During Black Friday
The month of November is here again and the world is waiting for big deals as several e-commerce platforms have their Black Friday campaigns. Black Friday is a popular shopping event globally when retail goods and services are sold at discounted prices.
Jumia, one of Africa’s biggest e-commerce platforms, is known for its crazy black Friday deals that have captured the attention of many online buyers. This year, the e-commerce company, is also bringing big deals to Kenyans where customers will be able to buy goods from as low as KES 100 (less than a dollar).
Some of the products will be fridges, TVs, Unga, Cooking Oil, Water dispensers, Boxers, and Shoes. The biggest deal of the month is 14-seater vans (Matatus), which will also be sold for KES 100. Jumia’s Black Friday will start from November 4, running until November 30.

“This year’s Jumia Black Friday aims to support businesses and celebrate consumers amidst challenging economic times,” Jumia said in a statement.
The e-commerce platform first initiated its signature annual sales in 2015, and the campaign has been gaining popularity since then. Over the years, Jumia has had other big campaigns including where they sold a motorbike for KES 10 (less than $10 cents), a freshian cow for KES 10, among other crazy deals.
Jumia expects millions of consumers to log onto the Jumia App to leverage online sales.

It will be in partnership with Transsion Holdings (Infinix, TECNO & itel) as Platinum sponsors and other brand partners like Vision Plus, Xiaomi, Beefeater, Nivea, Garnier, and Gordons.
“This year’s Black Friday is unique given the challenging business environment for our sellers as difficult economic times persist,” said the Jumia Kenya CEO, Juan Seco.
“We are grateful to the thousands of Kenyan businesses participating in this event and their efforts to offer the best deals to consumers. This also re-affirms Jumia’s commitment to the future of online retail in Kenya,” Seco added.

Banks such as Standard Chartered, I&M, and ABSA will also offer card payments incentives.
In addition, consumers will also enjoy a 20 per cent discount for payments made through Mastercard cards.
