ISACA welcomes new chapter in Casablanca, Morocco

Information technology professionals in Casablanca, Morocco, have formed a new chapter of ISACA, a global professional association serving the IT cybersecurity, audit, risk and governance professions. ISACA has more than 140,000 constituents in 187 countries. The ISACA Casablanca Chapter has more than 50 members at its start, and is among 215 ISACA chapters in 92 countries.
ISACA Casablanca Chapter President Halim Jadi, CISA, CRISC, said the Casablanca chapter will work to promote industry best practices as well as foster collaboration among local professionals and with other ISACA chapters.
“We decided to form the local chapter of ISACA to consolidate what has been achieved with the implementation of best practices and to promote the education of individuals for the improvement and development of their capabilities relating to IT governance, auditing, IT security and assurance,” Jadi said.

The local business community, government, university students and others will benefit from ISACA resources and guidance, including its certifications:
Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) and CSX Practitioner (a skills-based cybersecurity certification offered through ISACA’s Cybersecurity Nexus [CSX]).
The ISACA Casablanca Chapter is among 16 ISACA chapters in Africa. Jadi said the chapter looks forward to partnering with others across the continent.

“The creation of the ISACA Casablanca Chapter also is motivated by our commitment to contribute, together with other African chapters, to the promotion of good practices recommended by ISACA in Africa,” Jadi said.
The new chapter plans an official launch event in December. Officers of the ISACA Casablanca Chapter include: President—Halim Jadi, CISA, CRISC, Vice President—Taieb Debbagh, Vice President—Mounim Zaghloul, CISA, CGEIT, CRISC, Secretary—Jamal Skiti, CISA, CGEIT, CRISC and Treasurer—Hamid El Jamali, CISA.
The ISACA Casablanca Chapter will offer members the opportunity to attend training and skills-development sessions, in addition to networking and social events.

ISACA offers credentialing, education, guidance and community for IT security, assurance, risk and governance professionals. The association established its Cybersecurity Nexus (CSX) to address the global cybersecurity skills shortage and help organizations develop strong cybersecurity workforces. ISACA also offers COBIT, a business framework that helps organizations govern and manage their information and technology.
