Interswitch East Africa appoints former Jumia MD Paul Ndichu as new CEO

“Paul joins Interswitch after an illustrious career in Technology, Banking, Payments, Mobile, Telecommunication and Innovation. He has deployed Mobile and Digital Commerce solutions in various industries, including in a multi-national Banking Group and in one of the leading technology businesses in mobile and digital services in Africa,” the Company statement read.

In September 2015, Ndichu was appointed Managing Director of Jumia Group where he was responsible  for leading the team behind the taxi hailing mobile application known as ‘Easy App’ and served for 11 months. Between May 2016 to November 2016, he was the lead consultant at Little Cab (Safaricom backed taxi hailing app).

“Paul is passionate about transformation through technology, Mobile and Payments. He has vast experience in strategy and business growth, with a particular interest in Start-ups which he will deploy in growing the Interswitch business in Kenya and East Africa,” the Company statement continued.

Mr. Mwaura holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Curtin University in Perth, Australia and is completing an MBA in Technology and Innovation at London School of Business. He also holds certificates from Harvard University and Stanford University in leadership, Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
