How Cloud and AI Can Converge to Help Better Analyze and Plan Data
In the new age, the digital age, the age after and during digital transformation, most data is stored in the cloud. Most organisations today are being encouraged to store their data in the cloud for security and to also help cut costs in investing with storage hardware.
However, as all these companies move to the cloud with storing their data in different data centres through cloud service providers. This means that, at the end of the day, there’s a lot of data stored in the cloud and in data centres. Even for just a single organisation, the amount of data that is stored in the cloud is too much to be analyzed physically.
This is where AI comes in. With Artificial Intelligence (AI), it is possible to create bots and train them to analyze the data and help any organisation make data driven decisions easily.

At the Africa Cloud and Security Summit 2022, a panel moderated by Timothy Oriedo, the Founding Chief Data Scientist at Predictive Analytics Lab, discussed the Cloud Convergence with AI for Data Driven Innovation.
Oscar Limoke, the CEO at Pawa IT Solutions, who was a panelist at the discussion said that the coming of the Cloud has made clear the importance of AI in making data driven innovation.
“You need to analyze data before making decisions and before advising your clients. The data in the cloud is big and unorganized, AI will help to better plan it. It doesn’t make sense for a company to invest in people to dig through, plan and analyze the data,” Oscar remarked.

Recognized Gaming and NFT enthusiast, Michael Michie , was also a panelist and he said that to understand how AI can converge with the cloud we need to understand the beginning of all this. Michie said that AI converging with Cloud actually began with the gaming industry and the tools used there can be leveraged to help use AI to better analyze Cloud data.
Other panellists included Kayode Odeyeni, the Head of AI and Cognitive Technology at Ecobank; Hartnell Ndungi, the CDO at ABSA Bank Kenya; and John Kamara, the founder at Afya Rekod.
All the panelists agreed that it is important to use AI to analyze data in the cloud. In the future, AI will help companies better provide services through analyzed data. Companies will be able to make data driven decisions.
