Zone Unveils E-Sport Blockchain Gaming Platform
Zone, a blockchain gaming company, has launched a crypto-gaming platform that promises to change the way gamers play and earn in Kenya.
The web-based game-fi platform has been built over the Algorand blockchain technology, which enables instant payouts of rewards along with extremely low transaction fees, and ensures complete trust and transparency.
Zone allows players to earn cryptocurrency rewards for their gaming skills, opening up a new world of possibilities for players to monetize their passion for gaming.

Targeting E-sport and casual gamers with internet-enabled devices such as laptops and smartphones, Zone is the first gamefi ecosystem on the Algorand blockchain that combines on-chain gaming challenges, yield farming, and NFTs to create a play-to-earn ecosystem, using the native Zone token.
The Zone gaming platform enables gamers to earn daily. Users can earn in excess of $500 per month by playing the AAA games, Zone Fantasy and Zone Games.
With 18,000 users visiting the platform daily from across the world, Zone is re-shaping how gamers – both professional and casual – earn tokens that can be later converted to the local currency.

Gamers will be able to acquire $ZONE from any Algorand-based decentralized exchange. Players may also use the platform to pay participation fees via paid pools and earn rewards, as well as purchase gift cards from the Zone Marketplace. Additionally, users who hold the Algorand token may be able to benefit in the long term, especially if Algorand starts going toward previous all-time highs of $3.41, as seen in 2019. At present, the price is approximately $0.20 per token. Zone tokens also have the potential to gain in value over time – with the token appreciating by over 200 per cent this week.
According to Avhit Bij, the Country Representative for Zone says Zone is a game changer, especially for Kenyan gamers who want to earn money by playing. Most players in the country spend hours daily on games but do not earn a penny out of it. Players will also get entertainment value and monetary value simultaneously. The recent United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) report indicates that Kenya has the largest share of its population with cryptocurrencies in Africa. The report indicates that 8.5 per cent of the population or 4.25 million people own cryptocurrencies in the country:
“Presently people look for side hustles for additional income support due to global inflation and economic struggle. Zone offers them an opportunity to make this additional income on their smart devices. We are revolutionizing gaming through Web3 gaming which is now popular globally. Traditional gaming tournaments globally have attracted top prizes of $3m, however, this has not allowed many other participants to make money. Only the top players win the prizes. Zone allows even basic players to earn back what they have spent. As they specialize, they inevitably earn more.”

Gamers have an opportunity to compete in a solo or multi-player game within the Zone platform and compete for a prize that has been pre-set by the platform.
Some of the popular games on the platform include a similar game to Temple Run, known as Escape Run, Candy Fiesta (similar to Candy Crush), and Merge Mania. Additional fantasy sports include Fantasy Cricket and Fantasy Football.
Zone also has a native NFT collection, known as AFK Elephant NFTs, which are one of the most utilitarian NFTs and are considered to be among the best web3 gaming NFTs out there:
“Our NFTs are all algorithmically generated with varying degrees of rare traits. Owning an AFK Elephant enables the holder to do everything in the ZONE ecosystem,” says Avhit.
AFK NFTs come in 6 different rarity classes: Mythic, Legendary, Super Rare, Rare, Uncommon and Common.
Holding rarer AFK Elephants can lead to higher benefits, such as increased $ZONE token airdrops. In addition, AFK holders can enjoy daily free game farms. AFK elephants serve as a pseudonymous identity to your profile on Zone by acting as a profile picture. It is visible on game leaderboards and other top-ranking leaderboards on the platform.
Along with the airdrops, AFK holders can also access exclusive games, only accessible to the AFK NFT holders offering massive rewards to the best players among the holders.
Furthermore, Zone has also appointed Brian, popularly known as “The Beast’ as its Brand Ambassador to popularize Zone E-sport games in Kenya. Brian brings his popularity and skills in participating in various International E-sport games locally and in other parts of the world:
“The launch of Zone as a crypto-gaming platform is revolutionary. This is a moment we have been waiting for in Kenya so that we cannot only play but also earn. Crypto gaming is now on another level. I believe it will help some of us who are pro gamers to earn a lot more income as we play and interact with the rest of the world. This is a game changer for us, especially for the many youths bearing the brunt of the high cost of living,” says Brian the Beast.
