Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i said his ministry is working with other government institutions to ensure laptops for 1.2 million pupils in public schools are delivered.
Matiang’i launched the content of mathematics, science, social studies, English and Kiswahili at the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development in Nairobi on Tuesday.
The state has picked a total of 150 schools as the pilot schools for the digital content development and lower primary pupils of standard one and two are to benefit from the programme.

According to The Standard, three schools from each country have been selected for piloting under the proof (Poc), ahead of the roll out of the project in January.
“The pilot schools have been selected based on urban, peri-urban and rural categories,” reads the brief seen by The Standard.
“We welcome all players, including the Kenya Publishers Association, to help in content development. To Kenyan innovators and those in institutions of higher learning, this is your opportunity. We want to modernise our education system so it can be accessed any time on digital platforms and enhance access to information,” Dr Matiang’i said
