Daniel Obam Joins Huawei As Special Advisor

Daniel Obam has joined Huawei on contract basis as a special advisor on Africa policy and regulatory affairs. The seasoned professional shared on his LinkedIn page that he was starting this position as an additional role as he is also serving as the Managing Director at Convergant Kenya Limited.

He has over 30 years senior management and C-level experience in ardent public regulatory policy. Daniel is also an intergovernmental engagement specialist with a passion for digital transformation in African economies geared towards achieving the African Single Digital Market. He also has an extensive experience in radio frequency regulatory policy at the national, regional and international level.

Over the years, Daniel has successfully managed the migration from analogue to digital terrestrial TV, developed many ICT policies, strategies, laws, and regulations for the Republic of Kenya. He is also currently serving as an International Telecommunication Union Expert, a position he has held for over 11 years.

Prior to his roles at Huawei, International Telecommunication Union, and Convergant Kenya Limited, Daniel served for over 20 years at the National Communications Secretariat, where he has amassed a lot of his experience.

He has also served at the National Public Policy and Stakeholder Engagement as the Chair and at Communications Radio Technology as an expert.
