His appointment follows a restructuring of the Presidential Communication Service in January this year, and the resignation of the immediate former DG Ezra Chiloba in October 2023 marked the end of the latter’s two-year tenure.
The Director General is tasked with CA operations, provides overall leadership, and is the spokesperson of the Authority on all operational matters. Mugonyi’s appointment is expected to provide strategic leadership, set a clear vision for the body, and align its national and sectoral objectives.
