Communication Authority of Kenya (CA) has switched off two major TV stations in the country.
The two, Citizen TV and NTV have been switched off on all free to air platforms in most parts of the country over coverage of NASA “swearing-in” plan.
However, Citizen TV Online is still on, but the regular TV station has been shut down from the transmitter in Limuru.

Sources from the Authority told us that all the TV stations had been prevailed upon not to carry out the live event of the swearing in plan of the opposition leader, Raila Odinga scheduled for today at Uhuru Park in Nairobi.
Citizen TV has since issued a statement confirming that indeed this morning, the Authority disconnected Citizen and Inooro TV transmission.
The statement, signed by Wachira Waruru, Managing Director, Royal Media Services, the parent company for Citizen TV also said that there was no official communication from the Authority as to why the action was taken.
