Supporting the smart cities mission, Exhibitions India is organising the event which is set to be held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
Prem Behl, Chairman, Exhibition India Group said, “The Smart Cities India series of expos endeavor to bring all stakeholders together on a single platform to find solutions, and to form alliances to build smart, sustainable cities in India.”
The 2nd edition of the expo will witness, for the first time, the Smart Cities Awards, Mayor’s Conclave and Smart Transport India. Additionally, the 2nd Smart Villages session will continue to build on the idea that India’s villages need to be brought into the mainstream of the country’s burgeoning economic prosperity. These sessions are designed to inspire and impart constructive solutions for the smart cities revolution in India.

Smart Cities Awards will recognize individuals, policy makers, companies, government bodies and associations working behind the successful execution of the dream to develop 100 smart cities in the country
Mayor’s conclave will witness keynote addresses and presentations by mayors from across the globe, and will focus on improved collaboration between cities and businesses
Smart Transport India will showcase smart technology and solutions in electric mobility; batteries and storage systems; electric vehicle charging; intelligent transport; alternate fuels; road traffic systems; smart city public transport systems; skilling; R&D and Make in India

Smart villages will be addressed by Pradhans, Sarpanchs, innovators and influencers working towards the up liftment of villages in India.
The Indian government recognises the Smart Cities India expo as an important forum to drive progressive change. The 2nd edition of the expo continues to receive support from the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (Ministry of Communications & Information Technology), Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Ministry of Panchayati Raj and Ministry of Rural Development.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced, “ International interest in India’s smart cities mission is rising as evidenced by the offer of German assistance by Chancellor Angela Merkel during her visit to India recently”
The Indian government is steadfast in its commitment towards smart cities, and has introduced programs such as Make in India, Digital India, the Smart Cities Mission, and Housing for All. These initiatives have been met with great appreciation from across the world, and have boosted the confidence of the investor community in the smart cities domain.
The Smart Cities India expo will bring government representatives, industry leaders, media, and leading global companies on a common platform to strategize and deliberate on products and services to modernise existing Indian cities.
Deemed as one of the industry’s most prolific events, the 2nd edition of the expo will focus on 14 sectors – water & waste management, environment, clean energy, urban planning, IT & communications, green building, e-governance, smart grid, education and skills to build smart cities, smart manufacturing, make in India, smart health, disaster management, safety and security.
NASSCOM, TERI, GRIHA, TiE Delhi NCR, and other leading organisations, have undertaken remarkable work in the area of smart cities in relation to Prime Minister Modi’s vision and will be supporting the 2nd edition as well.
