#YouTubeRewind: Celebrating what Kenyans watched, shared, and created in 2017

Google has released a list of videos; people and events that defined YouTube in 2017. #YouTubeRewind 2017 reveals the top trending non-music videos and top music videos, according to time spent watching, sharing, commenting, liking, and more. This year’s list of top trending videos represents the unbelievable diversity of creativity shared on YouTube every day in Kenya and around the world.

Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shape of You’, Willy Paul and Alaine’s – ‘I Do’, and Nyashinski’s ‘Malaika’ topped the list of trending music videos in Kenya. The top trending videos in this category has once again showed Kenyans love for local, regional and international artistes.

The list of non-music videos introduces amazing talent and most impactful trends of the year. A video of ‘President Uhuru Kenyatta dancing like never before’ topped this category followed by the nursery rhyme song – ‘Johny Johny Yes Papa’. Comedian Eric Omondi’s satire videos on “How To Be Joho” and “How to be Vera Sidika” dominated the list of top 10 most viewed non-music videos.
