The Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) has partnered with online hotel booking platform Jovago to help increase the number of tourists coming to the country. The partnership is also expected to benefit hotels as it will now see all the accommodation facilities get online booking by both local and international clients with the integrated booking between KTB’s destination website, Magical Kenya and Jovago.
CloudFactory gets Kshs 180 million from Rockefeller Foundation to tap skilled Kenya workforce
CloudFactory, an online work platform, recently announced it has received a US $2 million (Kshs 180 million) Program Related Investment from the Rockefeller Foundation to help it enhance employment opportunities for previously unemployed Kenyan youth.
The Foundation’s investment will help CloudFactory expand its SpeakerText service, for fast, accurate video and audio transcription within the country.
Kenya among countries allegedly compromised by NSA’s spyware
Kenya has been named as one of several countries which the United States National Security Agency (NSA) has compromised by installing spyware in devices bought by them. According to an article by the Inquisitr, the spyware is placed in deep lying areas of the devices thus making them hard to remove.
Kenya makes it to the list of compromised countries together with two other African countries, Algeria and Egypt.
