IBM experts complete big data-oriented pro bono projects in Machakos and Isiolo Counties
A team of some of IBM’s top experts have completed big data-oriented pro bono projects in Machakos and Isiolo counties aimed at improving economic competitiveness, technical skills, citizen engagement and social services. The 12 IBM employees, hailing from all over the globe, were there from June to July as part of IBM’s Corporate Service Corps, which provides problem-solving support to educational institutions, small businesses, non-governmental organizations, and governmental agencies in emerging markets.

Microsoft fetes five Chevrolet Cruze winners
Five lucky winners of Lumia’s Achieve More campaign, launched by Microsoft Mobile Devices earlier this year, were today feted at a grand finale party and treated to a colorful reception to celebrate their great wins. During the event, the winners drove off in 5 luxurious Chevrolet Cruze saloon cars, all valued at KES 17 Million.
NIC Bank signs deal to be a Safaricom, MoneyGram and Western Union agent

NIC Bank has signed a strategic partnerships to become an agent for M-PESA, MoneyGram and Western Union in a bid to reach more Retail and SME customers across its branch network. The partnership with Safaricom’s M-PESA has seen the bank become a super-agent. The partnership will see NIC Bank offer transactional services including purchasing of float to M-PESA agents.
DCA Trust wins .africa IRP, ICANN to pay over Kshs 60 million in costs
DotConnectAfrica (DCA) Trust has won a landmark decision following the conclusion of an Independent Review Process (IRP) at the International Center for Dispute Resolution (ICDR) which ruled that the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) violated its Bylaws and Articles of Incorporation. The IRP suit was filed by DCA Trust in October 2013 to challenge an ICANN Board decision at the American Arbitration Association (AAA), New York, USA. The DCA vs. ICANN IRP decision was issued in Los Angeles, California, on Thursday, July 9, 2015.
