Kenya leads the way in technology adoption
Kenya has emerged as the leading country in the continent in terms of technology adoption. Research by Consumer Insight, conducted recently, established Kenya was ahead of South Africa, Nigeria and Ghana respectively. Kenya emerged with highest points, especially in the areas of mobile money transfer, mobile phone, computer, social network use and broadcast media coverage.

You can now earn cash by referring people to Jumia Kenya’s website
Online retailer Jumia Kenya is giving its customers a chance to earn some money by simply referring people to the website. The offer does not have a limit of how many people you can refer to the website therefore, you can refer more than one friend, and each time you refer someone, you get a cash price of Kshs 300.
The offer works in three simple steps which are: You tell your friend about Jumia, and you share your personal link and your friend then logs into Jumia using your link and he/she receives a Kshs 500 voucher to spend as they please. After the purchase by your friend, is confirmed you receive your Kshs 300 from the online retailer.

The Year Ahead: Cashless systems, MVNOs to define Kenya’s tech space in 2015
CIO East Africa today held its annual ‘The Year Ahead’ event where vendors, business and professional associations among other stakeholders in the ICT sector will meet to learn and explore the latest IT trends and technologies that will benefit their business and help them drive their initiatives in the right direction during the year.
Among key trends identified to create traction all through the year especially in the Kenyan perspective were that adoption and uptake of cashless systems in the economy would increase while more entrants would get into the Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) space.

The forum also heard that most organisations will have to invest more and in better customer experience systems and platforms.
CFC Bank calls for online nominations for ‘Rising Star Awards’
CFC Stanbic Bank calls for organization leaders to honor their top ‘young’ employees by nominating them, online, for their ‘Rising Star Awards’. The awards are nation wide, nominations can come from all parts of Kenya, and have been primarily designed to recognize and uplift the country’s talented young people. Candidates who are eligible for the award have to be aged between 28 and 40 yrs and entries are free of charge. The deadline for the submissions for this year’s competition has been set for Feb 10, 2015.
