Subscribers to lose unused ‘Karibu Postpay’ bundle resources on May 26
Safaricom has this morning sent a message to its notifying those on the hybrid postpay package otherwise called ‘Karibu Postpay’ that the PostPay1000 bundle won’t be terminated on May 26 as announced last year. However, all outstanding resources – that is unused minutes, SMS and data bundles – will expire on this date, which is less than month away from now.

Kenyans angered by Safaricom’s review of their post-paid tariff
Numerous mobile subscribers on the Safaricom network are not a happy lot today. They have mainly complained of losing resources they have already paid for.

Kenya Power’s digital mapping initiative to help in locating customers

Kenya Power has started its Digital mapping project that was initiated way back in 2011. Currently Kenya Power representatives are visiting premises to collect data in order for all the clients to join the map. The Kenya Power Digital mapping started on 13th April 2015 and will end on 31st October 2015.
Call for papers announced for Nairobi Innovation Week
The University of Nairobi and its business incubator C4DLab have announced a call for papers for August’s inaugural Nairobi Innovation Week, asking university students and staff, startups, entrepreneurs, investors, hubs, and private and public sector players to suggest papers, illustrations, and case studies to be exhibited during the event.
Move over M-Pesa, Bitcoin’s zSIM is the new kid on the block
With the arrival of the zSIM from bitSIM, it now seems that even M-Pesa must now give way to this new kid on the block. bitSIM has announced the release of a new thin card that can be added to any SIM card, converting the SIM card into a fully encrypted hardware bitcoin wallet. The zSIM works on any phone device, smartphone or not.
