Nairobi Garage, Sinapis partner for 20-week mini-MBA
Co-working space Nairobi Garage and entrepreneurship support firm Sinapis have partnered to run a 20-week mini-MBA programme for entrepreneurs, designed to assist startups in reaching the next level of growth. The programme offered by Nairobi Garage and Sinapis uses a secular version of Sinapis’ curriculum and Harvard School of Business course material to provide entrepreneurs with the necessary knowledge, skills and networks for scaling their businesses.
Airtel Kenya continues to record growth in data, mobile voice and SMS traffic

Airtel Kenya experienced an increase in total local mobile voice traffic that stood at 1.85 billion up from 1.83 billion minutes reported during the previous period. Its market share for the whole financial year grew significantly to stand at 16.4 per cent up from 10.7 per cent market shares reported in the previous year. This growth could be attributed to Airtel’s acquisition of Essar’s yuMobile subscriptions late last year.

Huawei, ATU sign MOU aimed at enhancing ICT in Africa
Huawei and the African Telecommunication Union (ATU) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at enhancing ICT capability and literacy in Africa. Huawei Technologies Kenya Country Manager Dean Yu said his firm will provide technical support to African states to increase their uptake of ICT during a media briefing in Nairobi.

Kenya is among 12 countries set to benefit from a new initiative that is aimed at strengthening science, technology and innovation in Africa. The Science and Granting Councils Initiative in Sub-Saharan Africa will offer opportunity to member states to boost their science systems to support national and regional development. Although many African countries still face major hurdles in funding research, the Government expressed its commitment in supporting the initiative.
