IEBC introduces handheld voter ID devices in Kajiado Central by-election
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is set to introduce a handheld voter identification device at each polling station to be used to identify the voters biometrically and prevent double voting. This was announced by the IEBC Director of ICT Stephen Ngeno during a media briefing in Kajiado County on Sunday.

Strathmore University launches Cyber Security Masters program
Strathmore University is launching the first Information Security Master’s of Science (Msc.) program in the region to provide high level cyber security training targeting experienced security professionals. The University said the Msc. program is targeted at Chief Information Officers, Network Security engineers, Information Security Architects, Incident Responders, Penetration Testers, Forensic Experts in Defense, Police Service, quasi government agencies and private enterprises.
Liquid Telecom connects Nakuru County to free WiFi

Liquid Telecom Kenya has partnered with the Nakuru County Government to launch high capacity free Wi-Fi in Nakuru.The public-private partnership between the Nakuru County Government and Liquid Telecom Kenya has seen the design and launch of a high capacity Wi-Fi network that covers a 10-kilometre radius from the central business district (CBD) with a capacity of 1 Gigabyte per second (Gbps).

French mobile smartphone manufacturer, Wiko has launched new model ‘Wiko Getaway’ into the Kenyan market. The entry of the Wiko Getaway into the Kenyan market marks the beginning of a series of products that Wiko plans to introduce between March and June that will enforce Wiko’s position as a strong player in the mobile phone industry.
