#GES2015Kenya: US Government to launch Women’s Entrepreneurial Centre in Nairobi later in the year
The US Government is set to launch three women’s entrepreneurial centers in Kenya, Zambia and Mali so as to support women entrepreneurs. This was announced at the just concluded Global Entrepreneurship Summit 2015 by the President of the United States of America, President Barack Obama, who was the co-host at the summit with Kenya’s President, Uhuru Kenyatta. “We’re launching three women’s entrepreneurial centers, one in Zambia, one opening later this year here in Nairobi and I’m proud to announce that the third center will be located in Mali,” said President Obama.

The device which is light with sleek design, adds to the growing list of premium Ultrabooks that are targeted at the high end market. It’s priced at KES 119,999 and is available at Text Book Centre, Bright Technologies and Avenue Electronics. According to the multinational the high performance device is set to address all round needs of consumers who constantly want better outcomes from new innovations.
Business leaders, startups mingle at Kenya Summit
The 6th edition of the Global Entrepreneurship Summit hosted in Kenya recently, graced by US President Barack Obama and other influential global business leaders, has resulted in various peripheral activities being organised by different industry players. Understanding that ordinary Kenyan entrepreneurs and innovators did not have the ability to fully participate in the Summit itself, the government of Kenya organised a pre-event conference and exhibition, which ran from the 22nd to the 25th of July at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre in Nairobi.

Facebook marks one-year anniversary of Internet.org, hosts Developer Day at iHub
Facebook is celebrating the one-year anniversary of the introduction of the Internet.org app by hosting a Developer Day at iHub in Nairobi, Kenya on Monday, 27 July. Over the last year, Facebook has worked closely with more than a dozen mobile operators across 17 countries to give people access to relevant basic internet services without data charges.Today Internet.org is available to more than a billion people. African countries where Internet.org has been launched include Kenya, South Africa, Tanzania, Senegal, Zambia, Ghana, Angola and Malawi.
