3G Direct Pay appoints Offer Gat as their Chairman
3G direct pay Limited, East and South African online payment service provider has announced the appointment of Mr. Offer Gat, as Chairman of 3G Direct Pay with effect from March.

Offer Gat is an Israel National, with a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from Tel Aviv University and BA in Political Science from the same university. Prior to his appointment Offer Gat has been the CEO of El Al Israel Airlines Ltd.’s North American operations and its VP Global Sales, and has 30 years of extensive experience in General and Financial Management, Strategy and M&A in the Aviation and Tourism Industry.
DTB pre-tax profit rise by 18% attributed in part to leveraging of technology
Diamond Trust Bank has credited leveraging of technology such as; mobile banking, internet banking and card services, for their 2014 group pre-tax profit rising by a 18%, to Kshs 8.5 billion, up from Kshs 7.2 billion in 2013.

Announcing the group’s annual results, DTB’s Managing Director and Group CEO, Mrs. Nasim Devji said that DTB’s underlying growth benefitted from a continuously expanding customer base serviced through branches as well as, technology- anchored, alternate delivery channels including mobile banking, internet banking and card services. The group results have also benefitted from the continuing growth of and share of results from, DTB’s subsidiaries in Tanzania, Uganda and Burundi.
U.S. drone attacks and kills suspect responsible for Westgate attack
A drone believed to belong to the U.S. reportedly killed a member of the al-Shabab who allegedly helped mastermind the 2013 Westgate Mall attack in Nairobi, officials said.

According to an article by SunHerald, an online publication, the man killed by the drone attack is called Adan Garar, and he is suspected of planning more than just the Westgate attack.
Nairobi County hosts ‘Kikao Kikuu’ with a key focus on Digital Migration
Nairobi County has hosted a County Consumer ICT forum dubbed ‘Kikao Kikuu’ at Kenyatta International Convention Centre.
Organized by ICT industry regulator, Communications Authority of Kenya (CA), the open forum provided an opportunity for consumers of ICT services to interact with service providers, consumer organizations, other government agencies and the Authority.
The Authority used the platform to focus on digital migration and more so to empower consumers with factual information on what is expected of them in the migration process.
M-Net creates a new home for international content on DStv Compact
DStv Compact viewers will be able to enjoy an enhanced offering on DStv channel 115. From 6 April 2015, this new general entertainment channel, M-Net City, will replace M-Net Series Zone on channel 115.
This new high-impact channel will entertain viewers with a variety of programme genres. Some of the great content lined up includes comedies such as, Modern Family and Last Man Standing, talk shows, and for the first time, Chicago PD, a crime and drama series will be available to Compact subscribers.
